Two flamingos, Batman and a lil shrimp.

Growing up I wasn't HUGE on Halloween. It wasn't a big deal for me to get dressed up and I didn't spend forever thinking about my costumes. I think I went as a nurse more times then I can remember because your Grandma had a pretty sweet get-up from when she was in nursing school and it was the "old-classic" looking type of nurse and she would do my makeup and that part I DID love. I also remember on quite a few occasions going trick-or-treating with your Auntie Heather in the pouring down rain and we would be princesses or wear our mom's bell bottoms or something easy we could put together at home and we would ultimately have our entire costume covered up because we needed our sweaters and rain jackets and umbrellas. Since having kids though it has absolutely become one of my favorite days of the year. I love thinking about what we can go as together and figuring out how to make your costumes stand out a little from the rest. The first year Hannah and I were both mice. Mostly because the mouse costume I saw was too cute and it looked nice and warm and I kind of decided last minute to dress up too with some ears and facepaint and just a matching colored outfit. The next year was my favorite thus far. Hannah was a chicken. I got your costume at Costco then fancied it up with a little feather boas and some handmade chicken feet. I then went as a scarecrow to somewhat stay with the theme. This year I loved the idea of a flamingo and shrimp since I knew Myles would be joining us this year :) I wanted to do more feathers and really go all out. However it became quite clear that Miss Hannah, you weren't having any of it. You were not a fan of the first flamingo outfit we bought and would hardly wear it for longer than five minutes. So I compromised and got you a sort of ride-a-flamingo costume since you are obsessed with horses lately. You LOVED it. You ride it around and say "yee-haw, GO horshey GO!" and Myles we found you a nice warm shrimp costume. It was kind of difficult to see the full shrimp costume since mostly you were strapped in the carrier the entire time, but you slept most of the time anyway and seemed content and warm so WIN! We spent the first part of the evening at Uncle Danny and Aunt Heather's Mom, Rielda's house, which we do every year and then headed to Proctor with Lyla and the gang for some trick-or-treating. Han you were good for a little bit but mostly just wanted to eat the chocolate as soon as you received it and we obliged (heck it's only one day a year right?!?). Then we left just in time for the downpour to start (Phew) and headed back to Silverdale to meet up with Auntie Abbie, Uncle Josh and the boys and the fam for some more trick or treating and some laughs at their house. It was a great day and we didn't get rained on which was a blessing since most people got drenched! Cant wait to see what next year brings (I already have a few ideas in my head)! Love you crazy kids!! xxoo

A Wedding To Remember

One day shy of Myles turning a month old he got to attend his very first wedding and it was a big one! Uncle Josh and Auntie Abbie got married on September 19th. It was a beautiful, fun, joy filled day and we were all smack dab in the middle of all the festivities. Mama was the Matron of Honor, Dadda was a groomsmen, Hannah girl you were a flower girl and Myles you were the most handsome one month old there. We have been waiting for this day for what seems like forever and it was well worth the wait. Auntie looked stunning, breath-taking really, and Josh was a studly groom. I have never seen them as happy as they were that day and it was so fun to see it all unfold and come together. I truly believe they are perfect for each other and bring out the best in one another. I am excited to see what their future holds, I know it will be many many years of adventure and fun and hopefully soon a new cousin for the two of you :) Here are a few pics from the wonderful day.

Welcome Myles Bruce McClain

Mr Myles this post is for you! This is all about your birth story. We had your arrival "penciled in" on the calendar because we were having a repeat c-section. You were scheduled to arrive at 8am on August 20th. That meant that your Dad and I had to be at the hospital by 6am. So Grandma and Papa came up along with Grandma Sandi and we all stayed at the beach house that night so they could watch your sis while we headed to the hospital and they would join us later. I barely slept that night. It was better than being a kid on Christmas morning. I was getting ready to meet the most handsome man I had ever laid eyes on. We woke up early and headed to the hospital, it was cold and foggy. We were both anxious and didn't talk much on the way in. We got all checked in and then waited. They poked and prodded at me and then before we knew it we were heading into surgery. It felt like forever as we waited to get prepped and then finally they began to get you out and then we both heard the dr say "well, do you have any ideas on what to do?" and my heart instantly sank into my chest thinking something was wrong but we just realized you were breach and it took a little extra time and then finally....cries!!! Again it felt like forever and ever as I laid there on the table waiting for someone to bring you to me. I kept asking your dada what you looked like and if you were perfect and he was just grinning and nodding his head and saying how beautiful you were. Then finally they brought your perfect self over and instant tears...from all three of us :) You WERE perfect and the most handsome thing I had ever seen. I wanted so badly to hold you but instead just had to settle for rubbing your face. The next few hours and days we just soaked you in. We were wheeled back to our room where we were greeted by your sis and Grandmas and Papa and Auntie Heather (who was kind enough to snap some photos of your first moments). Hannah wasnt sure what to think but did better than I anticipated. I couldn't believe how instantly my heart seemed to grow ten times bigger for you. I didn't want to put you down or stop looking at you. It was a wonderful welcome to you to our crazy world and it's now been two months and I cant remember what life was like before you. You are the perfect addition to our family and we could not be happier you choose to come and join our crazy life. We love you Handsome! xxoo
